Step by Step Application for Arbitration in RECICAL

In requesting for arbitration under the Arbitration Rules of the Regional Centre Lagos, the following steps shall be taken by the Parties.

Step 1:

Make a written request to the Director of the Centre for the purpose, intimating at the same time that the parties have entered into an agreement under which they have agreed to refer their disputes and differences for settlement by arbitration or conciliation/mediation under the auspices and Rules of the Regional Centre Lagos.

Step 2:

The Claimant shall file with the Director of the Centre a copy of the notice of arbitration served on the Respondent.

Step 3:

The parties shall also file with the Director of the Centre a copy of any other notice, including a notification, communication or proposal concerning the arbitral proceedings.

 Step 4:

If the Parties have agreed on an appointing authority, or if they have appointed the Centre, they shall inform the Director accordingly of the name of the appointing authority chosen.
