A primary function of the Centre is the provision of facilities for arbitration and other Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods. The facilities for arbitration offered by the Lagos Centre can be availed of by any party, whether within or outside the region, who may approach the Centre for institutional arbitration administered under the auspices and Rules of the Lagos Centre; ad-hoc arbitration proceedings or institutional arbitrations under the Rules of any other international arbitral institution.
The Director of Centre shall at the request of any party to an arbitration, mediation or conciliation etc, or the arbitral tribunal provide or arrange for such facilities and assistance for the conduct of such proceedings as may be requested, for a fixed charge; taking into consideration all expenses incurred in the provision of such facilities and the Centre’s non-profit nature.
These may include provision of suitable accommodation for sittings of the arbitral tribunal, interpretation and translation facilities, secretarial assistance, custody of records as well as transcribing of recorded proceedings.
