Aims of The Centre

Non profit making in orientation, the Lagos Center, functions as an independent, neutral, arbitral institutions providing for settlement of disputes arising out of International trade and Commerce as well as foreign investments by offering Institutional Arbitration and other Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods through a fair, reasonably inexpensive and expeditious procedure, so that recourse to Arbitration outside the African region would no longer be necessary nor desirable.

    ii) inexpensive procedure and
    iii) expeditious procedure.
  6. Assists in Enforcement of Arbitral Awards by provisions of various facilities such as venue, secretarial services, verbatim reporting, translators etc., on request.
  7. Administers Arbitration under the Auspices and Rules of the Lagos Centre which are the same Rules as the UNCITRAL Rules of Arbitrations with certain modification.
  8. Advisory service on settlement of disputes by Arbitration and other Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) techniques as well as dispute management /avoidance advisory services.
